We take our social responsibility seriously
… and actively support various sporting and cultural initiatives as well as humanitarian purposes.
This past year, we have among others, supported The Cancer Society of Denmark, WWF, Team Fog Naestved’s basketball team, Naestved soccer team, Naestved Theatre, SOS Children’s Villages, Danish Red Cross and many more. Previously we have also participated in the Danish Society for Nature Conservation and TV2’s campaign ”Denmark plants trees” and donated 250 trees (that is about 10 trees per employee). Because trees are the most effective tool we have today to reduce the massive burden of the climate, which CO2 gas constitutes.

The Human Needs Project
We have also supported projects outside Denmark e.g. The Human Needs Project in Africa.
The project began with a determination to provide clean water to the inhabitants of Kibera, the biggest slum in Africa. As a result and after filming “Lost in Africa” in Kibera in 2010 Danish actress Connie Nielsen, probably best known for her role in Gladiator, co-founded the Human Needs Project together with David Warner, the CEO of a California, USA based construction company.
The objective is now to provide clean drinking water, sanitation and energy and, subsequently, social and financial empowerment services.
In 2015, AV-Huset visited the Human Needs Project in Kibera, Kenya for the first time. Their work really made an impression on us and we decided to support the project.
AV-Huset has so far donated the following to Kibera Town Center:
- Sound system for talent shows, where local artists can show their talents
- Microphone and sound system for information of the inhabitants of Kibera
- Projector for education and information
- Money for maintenance of toilets, showers, and wastewater management
We will continue to support The Human Needs Project.
